Delhi is a captivating potpourri of cultures and traditions with an amalgamation of diverse ethnicities. This has lent an extraordinarily diverse face to the city and to the activities around Delhi. Therefore, a visit to Delhi can be exciting considering the variety of things to do and places to see.

Sightseeing

India Gate
India Gate is a majestic 43 meter tall arch, built as a tribute to the 90,000 Indian martyrs who laid down their lives during World War I. Situated at the eastern end of Rajpath it is the venue for the annual parade held on India's Republic Day.

Qutab Minar
Decorated with carvings from the Koran, the five-storey high Qutub Minar is the tallest brick column in the world, illustrating the Indo-Islamic architecture. The famous Iron pillar has lingered on as a mystery because we have not found an answer to why it has not rusted, regardless of standing open to natural elements for centuries.

Gandhi Memorial – Raj Ghat
Mahatma Gandhi was cremated here on 31 January, 1948. The epitaph on the memorial has Mahatma Gandhi’s last words ‘Hey Ram’ inscribed on them. The eternal flame and the flowers ignite reverence for the great man. Leading to the memorial is a stone path with lawns on both sides.

Red Fort
Red Fort or Lal Quila is a huge historic monument with thick red sandstone walls that extend to two kilometers and vary in height from 18 meters on the river side to 33 meters on the city side.

Bahai Lotus Temple
Bahai Lotus Temple is one of the incredible architectural pieces of Bahai faith. Located at Kalkaji in New Delhi, the temple appears to be a half opened Lotus flower with 27 freestanding "petals" made of marble lotus flower. The place is endowed with the perfect environment for meditation, peace and wisdom.

A visit to Delhi would remain incomplete if the following tourist attractions are ignored: Vijay Ghat, Vir Bhumi, Appu Ghar, Humayun's Tomb, Jama Masjid, Jantar Mantar, National Science Center, Nehru Planetarium, Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhawan.
